In this session, we'll cover using modes other than P (Program Mode). We'll cover using Tv (Shutter Priority Mode), A (Aperture Priority Mode), and M (Manual Mode). Having an idea of what you want your photo to look like determines which mode to use. After discussion of the modes, we'll walk around the Copley Square area to find scenes and locations to use the modes for your creative pleasure.

The 50mm lens is one of the flexible and useful lenses in any photographer’s gear bag. It is neither a wide-angle or telephoto lens, but allows the camera to see on the same scale as your eye. As such, it can be used for a variety of styles, from landscape and street photography to portrait and product photography. In this meetup, we’ll review the basic camera settings. We’ll then cover some of the advantages of shooting with a prime lens, and some basic techniques to using the 50mm lens. As always, there will be ample opportunities for you to put your new knowledge into practice.

This class is for intermediate users who fully understand how to change all the functions of their respective camera manufacturer. For those users looking to switch their camera mode from Auto to Manual and learn how to shoot using the Manual Mode. The goal is to help everyone become more confident when using Aperture, Shutter, and ISO elements for more control over the images. We will touch on essential camera functions and the exposure triangle: Shutter Speed, Aperture, and ISO.
Users must know how to change the Aperture, Shutter speed, and ISO of their camera in manual mode. In Addition, they should already know how to change the metering options, focus modes and focus point options provided by their respective camera.

Your instructor will teach you the relation between your own eye in relation to your cameras f stop. Your instructor will provide you an easy, fun and engaging way to understanding your DSLR! After a bit of class room material, you will venture into the nearby environment and put your skills to the test!liPlease keep in mind that you will need a DSLR of any make to fully utilize these practices and principles.

We will be using natural water reflections and seeking out man-made reflective surfaces in the area to explore how we can use reflections to add depth and intrigue to our images. Reflections can help us to show our subject from an unusual, or from multiple, points of view. We can use reflections to abstract our subject or to make perfect mirror images. We'll even have a look at how we can create our own reflections when there are none around.
